answered honestly
We know how hard you've researched to find the right fit for your child. These are the real questions families ask before they reach out, answered in plain language, not clinical speak.

We work with clients across a wide range of ages, from early childhood through adulthood. We don’t believe in a "one-size-fits-all" approach. During the intake process, our team carefully reviews the individual's history to ensure activities—whether swimming, sports, or traditional OT—are adapted to their unique developmental goals and current life stage.
Yes. Our therapists have experience in a diverse array of frameworks, including sensory processing, DIR Floortime approach, trauma informed care, executive functioning strategies, and many others. When you reach out, let us know what specific framework you are looking for; we want to ensure we match the client with the right provider for their specific needs.
We keep our onboarding process straightforward. We typically require a recent/relevant OT or PT evaluation to get started. If you don’t have one on file, our team can provide one to establish a baseline. From there, it’s a collaborative partnership where we set clear goals and document progress to keep everyone on the same page.
Creating a supportive environment is our priority. When completing the intake form, please provide as much detail as possible regarding medical precautions, behavioral triggers, or sensory needs. If you have pre-existing IEPs, OT/SLP/PT evals, Neuropsychs, or other documentation that helps us better understand your child - please pass it along! This information allows us to determine the best therapist match, the right setting (such as a quiet private pool vs. a busier facility), and an optimal scheduling approach.
We operate where it makes the most sense. This includes community pools, private pools, home or community-based settings (like hiking or bike riding), schools, you name it! Location availability varies based on the schedule, the specific therapist assigned, and the nature of the service requested.
We prioritize environments that keep the nervous system regulated. Our primary aquatic spots are heated (83°F–87°F+) and fully indoors. As for the logistics—parking, entries, and changing areas—we can provide you all of that information during intake so you know what to expect for your first session.
Yes. For Occupational Therapy, remote sessions are an excellent option that provides more flexibility. We can discuss your goals and how to support the client's specific needs through a virtual setting.
We cover a wide footprint, proudly anchored in Newton, MA as our primary hub. Our core service areas include the Boston Area (including Newton, Needham, Brookline, and Dedham), the Northshore (including Haverhill, North Andover, Andover, Newbury, Georgetown, Tewksbury, Methuen, and Bradford), and the surrounding regions. You can see our primary service areas on our Locations Page, but since our capacity shifts based on therapist availability, definitely include your city or town in your inquiry so we can verify if we’re currently accepting new clients in your area.
We focus on clinical goals rather than rigid time blocks, so our sessions are flexible. They range anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours depending on what we're working on. If your location preferences change, let us know; while location availability is often tied to specific therapist schedules, we keep an internal priority list to transition families as openings pop up.
We strive to accommodate new clients as efficiently as possible. Because availability fluctuates based on therapist capacity, location, and the time of year, we encourage you to reach out as early as possible so we can get you on our radar. In general afternoons and weekends are typically more popular while daytime options during the week tend to have immediate availability.
We aim to be as flexible as possible, but we must balance this with the needs of our community and the efficiency of our therapists' schedules. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice are charged at the full session rate. We kindly request as much advance notice as possible if you cannot make a scheduled session.
Absolutely. We’re always looking to evolve with the needs of our community. If there is a specific activity you’re looking for, please let us know—we’ll keep you posted if we develop that capability or bring on a new therapist with that expertise.
We operate as an out-of-network provider. We don't bill insurance companies directly, but we provide all the detailed invoices and documentation you’ll need to submit for reimbursement.
Note on swimming: Many families ask if adaptive swimming is covered as OT. The answer depends on the clinical intent. We determine if a service qualifies as "Skilled Occupational Therapy" based on the results of your intake evaluation and the subsequent treatment plan. If the service is conducted as part of a medically necessary treatment plan with specific clinical goals, it can often be coded as OT. We recommend contacting your provider to ask if they cover "out-of-network OT," so you know what to expect once your treatment plan is established.
Yes. Some locations (like hotels or recreational centers) may require a day pass or membership. These fees are set by the facility—not by us—and are paid directly to them. We try to be super transparent about this upfront, but if you have budget questions, checking in with the facility is usually the fastest way to get an up to date answer.
The first step is completing our intake form. Once we review your needs, we may request a recent OT or PT evaluation. If you don't have one available, we can facilitate that to get the process moving. As a small business, we try our best to respond to everyone by the end of the week. If you haven't heard back after 7 days, please send us a gentle "nudge"—sometimes emails just slip through the cracks!
