Services and Rates

Occupational Therapy is built around your child's goals — a previous or new evaluation sets the foundation, and sessions typically run 30–180 minutes. Swimming or sports (kayaking, biking, skiing, etc.) can be a part of the OT process and can be utilized as therapeutic tools.

Adaptive Activities are a non-insurance option for families who want individualized, adapted instruction in swimming, a sport or activity they love. Our two most-booked 1:1 services are broken out by session length below; everything else is priced simply by the hour.

Insurance & Reimbursement

We know this is the part that actually determines whether OT is affordable for your family — so here's the full picture, not just the short version.

How It Works

We operate as an out-of-network provider. We don't bill insurance companies directly, but we provide all the detailed invoices and documentation you'll need to submit for reimbursement.

We've also had families use HSA or FSA funds successfully for our services — often directly with your HSA/FSA debit card, or by submitting the same invoice to your plan administrator. We encourage checking in with your plan administrator.

1

You Attend Sessions

Billed directly to you, same as any private-pay service — no insurance approval needed to start.

2

We Send Documentation

At the start of each month, you'll get an invoice and a paid receipt for the previous month's sessions, itemized and ready to submit.

3

You Submit for Reimbursement

Send the receipt to your insurer's out-of-network claims process. What comes back depends entirely on your plan.

A Note on Swimming

Many families ask if adaptive swimming is covered as OT. The answer depends on clinical intent — we determine whether a service qualifies as "Skilled Occupational Therapy" based on your intake evaluation and the treatment plan that follows. If it's part of a medically necessary plan with specific clinical goals, it can often be coded as OT.

Our recommendation: ask your provider whether they cover "out-of-network OT" so you know what to expect once a treatment plan is in place.

Before You Call Your Insurance Company

Reimbursement rates and rules vary a lot by plan. These are the specific questions worth asking so you get a real answer instead of a general one:

What is the plan's definition of occupational therapy?

Are there limits on visits, locations, or yearly costs for OT?

Is there a required provider network — and can I opt out?

Does the plan offer case management for our condition?

Am I responsible for a co-pay, deductible, or other out-of-pocket cost?

Is OT paid as its own fee, or bundled with other rehab services?

Does the payer require specific therapist credentials?

Is the reimbursement rate different for a Certified OT Assistant?

Cancellation and Attendance

We try to be as flexible as possible. Cancellations made more than 24 hours in advance are not charged. Cancellations under 24 hours are charged the full rate, made directly with your instructor or therapist.Because so many families are on our waitlist, we ask weekly clients to be mindful of consistent attendance. If 3 or more sessions are missed (or expected to be missed) within a 60-day span, we'll reach out to troubleshoot scheduling — and may ask a client to return to the waitlist until consistent attendance is possible.

This information is general guidance, not tax, legal, or insurance advice, and isn't a guarantee of reimbursement. Please confirm details with your insurance provider or plan administrator.
